North Yorkshire Council (NYC) is asking residents to share their views as part of its annual budget consultation.

NYC delivers services people rely on every day, from social care, education, housing and leisure to roads, transport, waste collection and recycling.

Like councils across the country, they are facing significant financial challenges. Demand for many of the services they provide continues to grow while costs are increasing. Pressures include adult social care and support for children and young people, particularly those with special educational needs or disabilities.

At the same time, they must continue to balance their budget and ensure the best possible value for money.

They’re are asking everyone to tell them what matters most and how they think the money available should be prioritised.

Your feedback will help inform budget decisions for 2027 to 2028 and future council priorities.

The consultation runs until 26 November 2026.
